Why Avatar 2 took 13 years after the initial release of Avatar

Avatar 1 was released in 2009 and the the new avatar: the way of water is scheduled to be release on 16th December 2022.

Avatar 2 is releasing after almost 13 years of initial release, James Cameron, the director of the movie was willing to make this film before 2024.

James Cameron also announced that the film will be released in 2014 and the next part of the film was also planned to be released in 2015.

We all know that James Cameron is a legendary director, the shots he wanted in the movie was limited by the technology we had in 2012.

So the reason behind the delay is that the director of the movie waited for the technological advancement, as he wanted The Avatar 2 to be the best movie ever made.

Because the majority of the film is going to be shot in water it is was nearly impossible to do that in 2012, given the availability of the equipment.

Avatar 2: The way of water is going to be primarily focused on Jake and Neytiri's adopted human child 'Spider'.

In September 2022, the 2009 Avatar movie was re-released, which had some post credit scene for 2026 Avatar film 'The Tulkun Rider'.
