The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) has announced India’s 17-member squad for the upcoming one-off Test against England National Cricket Team.

Notably, India will play the 5th and last Test match of the series against England in England, which was cancelled last year due to the Covid-19 outbreak in the Indian camp.

Also, India will be playing the T20I and ODI series on the same tour. The 5th rescheduled Test match will be played at the Edgbaston, Birmingham from Friday, July 1.

Meanwhile, veteran batter Cheteshwar Pujara, who got dropped from the Indian squad ahead of the Test series against Sri Lanka

at home after his poor run with the bat for an extended period of time, has made a comeback to the side.

Notably, Pujara has recently performed exceptionally well in the County Championship while playing for Sussex and his performance has helped him make a comeback to the India National Cricket Team.

Also, Rajasthan Royals (RR) pacer Prasidh Krishna has been included in the Indian Test squad for England series and veteran pacer Ishant Sharma has failed to make it to the squad.

Wicketkeeper-batsman Wriddhiman Saha is also not included, who got dropped from the team ahead of the Sri Lanka series.

Meanwhile, former India Test vice-captain Ajinkya Rahane has suffered an injury and will be out of action for a few months.

Other than that there are not many surprises in India’s Test squad for the England tour and most of the expected names have retained their place in the team.
